Craig Watkinson spent some time in September of 2009 to record some vocals for the upcoming Richard Cheese album, "OK Bartender" (a send up of Radiohead's classic "OK Computer").
"I was thrilled to do it," Craig said. "I've long been a fan of Richard Cheese and have seen many of his shows. He's a consummate entertainer and a hell of a funny guy. So when he asked me to do some work on one of the tracks, I jumped at the chance!"
The album won't be available in stores or on iTunes until March of 2010, but it can be preordered through Richard Cheese's website. For details, click the link below:
Craig Watkinson would like to express his deepest sympathies to Billy Mays' family in light of Mr. Mays' recent passing. "He was a really, really nice guy," Craig said. "He was serious and hard-working but also really sweet to be around. The amount of energy he brought to each take was nothing short of stunning. We came up with a little catchphrase for him that day -- 'Mays the roof.' He liked that."

In a recent Disney Channel role, Craig played the role of a Soda Can (yes, a soda can) on the wildly popular Disney Channel series "The Wizards of Waverly Place." The series follows a clan of young wizards in the Harry Potter mold. You can click the link below to see the abbreviated version of the scene from his episode, "Wizard School Part II." (It begins about 3 minutes into the clip.)
For all of those of you who've been writing the website for years asking when Craig is going to play some sort of beverage, you can stop emailing us! Your prayers have been answered!! In fact, he's currently contemplat-ing teaching a class in the Valley on how to do all kinds of snack food acting, or as he calls it, "Snackting." Again -- please check local listings and this website for his episode's airdate.
There is another glimpse of Craig as the enormous beverage in the clip below. It plays over the closing credits, about five minutes in.
Prior to that, he completed playing the lead role in a new film by director Doug Finelli ("My Best Friend's Wife"). Called "Metro," it is a comedic short about a young British man (Watkinson) and a rather odd run-in with an elderly woman (Joi Station) living in his building. Finelli originally produced and directed the film as a proposed entry for the now defunct Steven Spielberg / Mark Burnett reality series "On the Lot." Current release plans for the short film are COMPLETELY UNKNOWN!!!
On the television front, Craig's last aired role was a small but insignificant part on the acclaimed HBO series, "Big Love." He had the chance to work with the very talented Bill Paxton and Ginnifer Goodwin, playing a hotel worker. He greatly enjoyed his time working with the cast. And he discoverd that it truly isn't TV -- it's HBO.
And yes -- Craig does always need to have the last word. :)
Prior to calling his boss an a*%hole at the company meeting, he assaulted the airwaves in a Propel ad. YES -- it's THAT commercial that you'd seen a billion times already on TV and maybe a handful of times in your nightmares. He played the valet, a job fans will immediately recognize him as playing so brilliantly on Without a Trace. This time, instead of finding a corpse, he merely leers at a Propel-drinking hottie.
We here at the website would also like to congratulate Mr. Watkinson on officially becoming a credentialed, certificated California school teacher. Inspired by Angelina's humanitarian efforts to adopt a child of nearly every race or hair color, Craig felt he could help children too. Much like a superhero who is a mild mannered nerd during the workday but battles crime at night and on certain national holidays, he now balances the molding of young minds with the kind of breathtaking roles he's famous for, like "Onlooker" or "Sunglass Salesman." And who could possibly forget his riveting role as Sara Gilbert's one-night stand as "Derek" in the now-canceled "Twins"? It still takes our breath away, and leaves us with just a happy little touch of gas. He spent the last two school years teaching a class of 4th and 5th graders with learning differences, and recently returned to begin his third year.
If you haven't yet had the chance to catch Undiscovered and witness Craig's brilliant 10-second star turn, it is now available on DVD! Click the link below to purchase it on Amazon.com. You do not want to miss this one! But don't just take our word for it -- read the reviews...
"Undiscovered just may be the dumbest movie of 2005." -- Ann Hornaday, WASHINGTON POST
Undiscovered was one of the ten worst openings of the last TWENTY FIVE YEARS! Craig is, of course, incredibly proud.
"All this silliness swirls around for about an hour and a half and then you get to leave the theater. Unless you're being held there at gunpoint. And really, that's about the only excuse for being in a theater watching this thing in the first place." -- Tom Long, DETROIT NEWS
OUCH!
Man, those pictures are making me sweat! (And I didn't smell so great to begin with!)
